Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager of Capital Improvement and Facilities will oversee capital improvement initiatives across a geographically diverse real estate portfolio. This role focuses on ensuring that renovation and repair projects are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with asset business plans.

Acting as the central liaison between ownership and property operators, this individual will monitor project execution, resolve issues, and uphold quality and financial discipline. The position requires a hands-on, organized leader who can balance big-picture oversight with attention to technical details and vendor performance.

This position reports to senior leadership within the capital programs division and involves frequent national travel.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive background in Capex or construction management, ideally within the multifamily or commercial real estate sectors.

  • Track record of managing complex capital projects from budgeting and planning through closeout and performance evaluation.

  • Ability to lead third-party partners and on-site teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Proficiency with construction and project management software tools and strong familiarity with modern reporting systems.

  • Deep understanding of facilities operations, including maintenance protocols, unit turnover processes, and preventive programs.

  • Exceptional financial literacy—capable of developing budgets, analyzing cost reports, and interpreting performance metrics.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a collaborative yet firm approach to accountability.

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate, or related field); advanced education preferred.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50–60% to project sites across the U.S.

  • Preferred location (REMOTE): Central U.S. markets such as Dallas, Chicago, Houston, or Atlanta, Philadelphia, DC…

    Compensation (depends on level of experience): 150,000-175,000 plus discretionary bonus and benefits
